Caravan manoeuvring courses
If you are a little apprehensive about trying caravanning because you are worried towing a 'van may not be for you, The Caravan Club have some great courses so you can see for yourself how easy it really is.
There are two different course the first is designed for those new to towing and second is perfect for those who simply want to increase their confidence. The courses are open to everyone (you don’t need to be a member of The Club), and are run in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. There are a number of venues up and down the country to choose from and courses are held during the week and at weekends so you’re bound to find one that’s convenient for you. Don't worry you won’t have to take a test at the end of the course.
The Club provides you with a beautiful Bailey caravan so all you'll need is to bring your car fitted with a towing bracket, functional electric sockets, and two outside mirrors wide enough to see either side of the caravan. You'll need a full Group B driving licence and the car must be insured to tow a trailer caravan.
1. Practical Caravanning Course
The 10 hour Practical Caravanning Course, held over one and a half days, is ideal for newcomers. The courses cover reversing with instrutor tuition, hitching-up, simple technical checks, loading and the effects on towing, general manoeuvring with instructor feedback and safety checks.
2. Caravan Manoeuvring Course
The one day 'Caravan Manoeuvring Course' is great for the caravanner or any trailer tower who knows the basics but wants to increase their confidence and ability in manoeuvring, especially reversing their outfit. If you're new to towing this course is not for you.
